Philips CD100 The First CD Player

2 comments:

  1. bought one when they first came out in the 80's at "sounds good looks good" store on stradbrook and Osborne in Winnipeg. It cost me about $470 bucks, cd's were $20. I'd never heard anything like it so I had to have one. It got
very warm after a couple of hours (notice heatsink on the back) and I used the hell out of it for a good 2 or 3 years.
Then of course the design improved and the price came WAY down... if only I'd known mp3s would be down the pike...

    1. Epic!!! I had a Philips 200 second esp portable cd player as a kid in the 90s. I still have one to this day and it runs, the only portable cd player you could Jog with in my option. The thing also can play MP3 cds. They make really good stuff.
